Prof. Bindoo Ranjan

An alumnus of the National Institute of Design Ahmedabad [M.Des 1991], Ms Bindoo has experience of more than 3 decades working for sustainable development of Handicrafts, Handlooms & MSME sectors. She had been associated in the past with UNDP, WORLD BANK, OXFAM, FAIR TRADE, FICCI, CCIC, RSIC, HHEC, EPCH, CAPART, KVIC, Dastkar Haat Samiti, ARUNIM, and Sandhi Craft Foundation.

For her exceptional journey in the realm of academics and the advancement of arts and crafts, design, and innovation, she has received a multitude of accolades and awards.

Ms Bindoo Ranjan is a jury member for GI (Geographical Indication Mark) for Handloom and Handicrafts products.

She is also a jury member for the ‘National Award of Handicrafts’ and a Taskforce member with the FICCI’s ‘cluster development initiative’.

Besides, she is a ‘Life Member’ of INTACH.

She is empaneled with ‘Development Commissioner (Handicrafts & Handloom)’, Ministry of Textiles, GOI, Khadi & Village Industries Commission and the Ministry of MSME.

She is also on the advisory board of All India Board of Art and Craft Design, AICTE.

Also headed Delhi Centre of NID, Ahmedabad.

Publications:

Coffee Table Book – “Panorama of Handlooms and Handicrafts of Manipur” Ms Bindoo Ranjan has documented ten traditional Handicrafts and Handlooms practiced by different communities of Manipur.

Ms Bindoo is currently working as a Professor at the University School of Design and Innovation, Indraprastha University, Delhi since 2021.

It is a privilege that she is on the board of directors at India ODOP Promotions.
