Prof. (Dr.) Chitralekha Singh, an eminent artist and academic born in 1945, is a distinguished figure in the field of Fine Arts. With a PhD on the celebrated artist Shri Nandlal Bose, she has spent over six decades shaping art education in India, establishing Fine Arts departments across multiple institutions.

A highly respected mentor, she has taught over 1,500 students globally, guiding 98 PhD scholars and 215 M.Phil researchers.

Her exceptional contributions have earned her prestigious honours including awards from the Lalit Kala Akademi, the DLA Award, Art Prize Grand Rapids (USA), Bharat Gaurav Samman, Saptarang Shri Samman, and Sanskar Bharti Samman.

Prof. Singh serves on the Executive Councils of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, and Akashwani Radio. Her artistic journey has taken her to major international centres across Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. As Founder Dean of the Mewar School of Fine Arts, she has also established several notable museums that attract global scholars.

She is currently leading the creation of the world’s largest Picchhwai painting, registered for the Guinness World Records.
